Privacy Policy

TileDock is designed with privacy in mind. There is no backend server, no third-party advertising, and no analytics in the app. Your dock configuration syncs across your Apple devices via iCloud. Local network connections to your Mac are TLS-encrypted and never leave your network.

This Privacy Policy details how TileDock handles your data. The sections below outline policies on Sign in With Apple, iCloud Sync, local network usage, website analytics, data retention and storage, and children’s privacy.

By using TileDock, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@tiledock.app.

Sign in With Apple & iCloud Sync

TileDock uses Sign in with Apple to identify you across your devices and enable iCloud sync. When you sign in, your name and email address may be shared by Apple and stored locally on your device in the system Keychain. This information is never transmitted to any developer-operated server and is used only to personalise your experience.

Your app groups, tile layouts, and dock configuration are synced via your personal iCloud account using iCloud Key-Value Storage. This data is not accessible to the developer or third parties and is governed by Apple’s iCloud privacy policies. You can remove data by deleting TileDock and clearing iCloud data in Settings.

You can revoke Sign in with Apple access at any time in your Apple ID settings. There is no developer backend, so all data stays on your device and iCloud.

Local Network & Bonjour

TileDock uses Apple’s Bonjour protocol to discover your Mac on your local network. All pairing is secured with a PIN and a trust token stored locally. Communication is secured via TLS and stays entirely on your local network.

No data is ever sent over the internet or to any developer server. Network permission must be explicitly granted through iOS before any pairing.

Pairing trust tokens and certificate fingerprints are stored securely in your device’s Keychain to verify your Mac in future connections.

Website Analytics

TileDock’s website (tiledock.app) uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with the site. Clarity collects only anonymous usage data such as pages visited and click and scroll behavior. No personal or identifiable information is collected.

TileDock apps for iOS, macOS, and watchOS do not contain analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks. We do not track your in-app behavior, collect crash reports, or use advertising identifiers.

No data is ever shared with advertisers or brokers. Website analytics remain anonymized and are not linked to app usage.

Data Stored on Your Devices & Data Retention

Data stored on your devices includes your app groups, tile configuration (locally and in iCloud), Apple credentials (name, email, user ID) in the Keychain, pairing trust tokens, TLS fingerprints, and your app preferences. None of this is transmitted to any developer-server.

Deleting TileDock removes all locally stored data and Keychain entries. iCloud data persists until you clear it from Settings. There is no developer backend to request data deletion from.

Sign in with Apple access can be revoked any time from your Apple ID settings. Once revoked and data deleted, nothing is retained on developer servers.

Children’s Privacy

TileDock does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no accounts, no data collection, and no backend.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to TileDock, please contact us and we will promptly address the issue.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.

We encourage users to review this Policy periodically for updates.
